Levelling agent

Levelling agent for direct dyestuffs
Chemical Characteristics:
Alkylpolyglycolether with defoamer (DHK 117)
Typical Data
Appearance: turbid, liquid
                PH : 5-7
                Ionic nature:
non-ionic
Shelf life: 6 months in closed original containers
                Dissolving procedure:
dilute with warm water at 1:3-1:10

Properties:
reduces the soiling of the white cotton weft as well as pocket lining of jeans in scouring
shows excellent wetting, scouring and dispersing properties in cold and warm baths
is low-foaming and, therefore, suitable for use on drum type washing machines
is compatible with enzymes based on amylases and cellulases

Application:
Low-foaming wetting, scouring and dispersing agent for increased contrast in jeans treatment;leveling agent for direct dyestuffs
Desizing:
2 g/l DHK 188
2 g/l DHK 117
10 - 15 min / 60 °C, rinse.
Stone-wash:
1.0 - 2.5 g/l DHK 1533 or 1534
0.5 - 1.0 g/l DHK 117
20 - 45 min / 55 °C,
rinse and afterscour.
Afterscouring of jeans fabric:
0.5 - 1 g/l DHK 117
0.5 - 2 g/l alkali (soda ash, caustic soda)
0 - 2 g/l hydrogen peroxide 35 %
X g/l optical brightener, if necessary
10 - 20 min / 60 °C
At low temperatures and without hydrogen peroxide the contrast improvement is
less. Levelling agent for direct dyestuffs: DHK 117 is used in concentrations of
1 - 2 g/l for levelling of direct dyestuffs in dyeing of cellulosic fibers.
DHK 117 retards the dyestrike and increases dye migration. Thus more level and
even dyeings are produced. Advantageously
dyeing is started without salt. For better dye exhaustion salt is added later in the
dyeing cycle. Very light dyeings also may be produced without salt addition if
levelling is a problem.
