Chemical Properties
Orange powder. Insoluble in water. Chlorophenol soluble, slightly soluble in hot chloroform, pyridine, insoluble in acetone, ethanol, toluene. In concentrated sulfuric acid was yellow brown; in alkaline hydrosulfite solution was olive; in the acidic solution was blue (with green fluorescence).
Use
GG can be used to restore the red cotton dyeing and printing, affinity general level dyeing and good, but not suitable for dyeing silk and wool. The yellow shade than the reduction of red R, but did not restore the bright red GGN, thus using less.
Production methods
Method 1: In the acetic acid or pyridine solution, heating o-phenylenediamine and 1,4,5,8 - naphthalene tetracarboxylic acid mixture (when using acetic acid as solvent, the product of a larger proportion of trans isomer).
